I have been in the health and fitness industry since 1992. Looking back I can see now that my passion for becoming a professional expert in the industry was to learn how to help each woman get fit and maintain a lifestyle of being healthy throughout the seasons and reasons that encourage change.
The first part of my fitness journey I focused exclusively on women’s weight loss and helping them maintain their results through a style of extreme goal setting and pushing to the point of exhaustion. It was a method I enjoyed doing and teaching in my 20’s and 30’s.
When I turned 38 my life’s priorities changed and so did my reasons for fitness. That year more than a few family traumas took place and health issues ranging from auto immune disorders, allergies, fibroids, fibromyalgia, anemia, eczema, psoriasis, digestive issues and more surfaced from within me. For 7 years the stresses in my life kept my body constantly treading water between all of these catch 22 situations. What worked to mend one area usually caused another area to react more severely.
I was afraid to do anything. Eventually this led to malnutrition and 2 blood transfusions. It was unbelievable that I had been in the fitness industry for so long and was not able to at least find a healthy balance for enough energy to make it through a day.
Long story short, 8 years later AND the steady creation of Simply Pure Fitness’ 28 Day Fitness Journeys, my energy and my health is NOW thriving again from each step I took toward a different style of fitness by being smarter and not working harder – has restored my worn out liver, and revived my adrenals. Naturally this helped balanced my hormones, giving a more restful night’s sleep, which encouraged healing and the capability to take the next step forward, gathering more strength and endurance for the next step.
Gradually my fibroids shrunk, fibromyalgia pain disappeared, allergies dissipated, digestive issues were relieved and my skin disorders mended. Weight loss was not my focus but it too naturally found its healthier number on the scale and I am able to maintain this lifestyle no matter what kind of event life presents to me.
What makes this style of fitness different from my younger years of training? I changed the way I thought about fitness. Instead of trying to focus on everything involved with becoming healthy (the different types of exercise, how to eat accordingly, and endless ways to supplement) I developed 2 STYLES of Fitness that encompass every aspect – every type of exercise, all eating plans, the best supplement and more.
